Hypatia+Jesse's Figueora Mountain Wedding

November 05, 2014  •  2 Comments

Hypatia and Jesse's non traditional, intimate wedding was one of the most unique and heartfelt little ceremonies I have ever witnessed. They wanted to celebrate their love for each other with a small group of their closest friends, a self described "Motley Crew", and that they were. Hypatia was the simplest and most easy going bride and braved the mud and freezing temps without so much as a shutter (she's stunning right!?) . I loved that they incorporated a hand fasting ceremony into their vows and that each color ribbon represented a different virtue that literally bound the two together. Thank you both for letting me be a part of your beautiful day, I wish you a lifetime of love and laughter together!

The handfasting ceremony dates back to the time of the ancient Celts. It was used to acknowledge the beginning of a trial period of a year and a day during which time a couple were literally bound together - hand fasted. - See more at: http://www.wendyhaynes.com/handfasting_ceremonies#sthash.L9jDIV7H.dpufIt was an honor to photograph their ceremony and I wish them both a lifetime of love and laughter together.
