I am SO glad we didn't as it turned out to be one of the funnest engagement sessions yet! I am so grateful for their willingness to go along with all my crazy antics which happened to include jumping into the ocean at the end of their session.... I mean, it was already raining so might as well right?! As you can probably imagine the water was FREEZING but these two laughed it off like champs and I've got the photos to prove it. Here are a few of my favorites from our rainy day together. I can't wait to photograph their wedding day in just a few short months!

Agin Family Session Sessions like this are why I am so passionate about shooting in natural light and why I'm a stickler for certain hours of the day. I am IN LOVE with the images from this  family session and you can probably tell why. The light, the outfits, THAT BABY! What a sweet and fun loving family the Agin's are. We had a great time capturing some sun drenched memories and preserving some of that new baby goodness on film. And what adoring big sisters she's lucky to have. Congratulations on your newest addition, Agin's! She's a doll. Here are a few of my favorites from our shoot... enjoy!

Summer on the California Coast The more I travel the more I appreciate our relatively cool California summers. We really do take our close-to-perfect weather for granted here in Santa Barbara County.  We've been blessed with some pretty dreamy beach days these past few months and still have several months of fun in the the sun in our future! I loved this salty aired, sandy toed, beach session with one of the cutest families on the coast! Here are a few of my favorites. Enjoy!

Boho Inspired Spring Styled Shoot (Part 1) Recently I was feeling quite inspired by how green and lush our lovely valley looks having just had all of this rain, to throw together a little spring styled shoot. When I started to dream up the concept and look I was hoping to achieve Alana and her precious daughter Indigo immediately popped in mind. Alana (Alana Clumeck Art) is a local artist here in Santa Ynez and paints the dreamiest works of art! Her daughter Indigo is already following in momma's artistic footsteps and has started an art movement of her own called the "Indigo heaART project"  Indigo spreads happiness with art by giving away her paintings and has inspired others to do so as well.

I decided I wanted a Bohemian spring inspired mother/daughter shoot and Plenty Boutique's clothing/jewelry selections were the perfect fit! I had so much fun browsing through all of their unique, whimsical pieces and was able to find the perfect items! If you have not yet checkout out Plenty Boutique RUN. Seriously run... I wan't everything they have.

Hair and makeup was done by the ever so talented ladies over at Spa elan in Los Olivos. I have had the pleasure of working with them several times over the past few years and I love referring my brides, expecting momma's or any woman looking for a little extra glam and pampering before their shoot. Sometimes having your hair and makeup professionally done makes all the difference in your images.. and who doesn't love a little relaxing special treatment. Their space is SO relaxing in fact that you probably won't want to leave! I loved what they did with Alana and Indigo's hair. The dainty little elements woven in their wild curls such as tiny braids and messy knots achieved the look I was going for perfectly. I LOVED Alana's bronzy natural glow in these images.

One of my favorite elements of this entire shoot was the dainty floral garland made by my dear friend and talented floral designer Rachelle Witt Designs. She truly amazes me with the beautiful things she is able to put together and always exceeds my expectations. She also provided flowers to place in the girls hair and it really pulled the whole look together. Thank you so much to all of the ladies who contributed to such a lovely shoot! I could not be happier with how everything came together. Now I'm definitely inspired for whats to come this spring!! Here are a few of my favorite images from the first look in our shoot. Enjoy <3

Happiness is on the way {Santa Clarita Maternity Session} There is nothing quite like the anticipation of expecting your first child. Although my first is going to be ELEVEN in just a few short days I still remember every little detail surrounding his birth and the months leading up to it. I am always overjoyed when clients approach me wanting to document their pregnancy as I know they will forever cherish these images preserving a mere blink of a moment in time. Laura, you are a gorgeous momma to be- glowing from the inside out and I can't wait for what the next few months has in store for you and your husband! Your heart is going to be filled with more love and joy than you ever thought possible and I am so happy I got to document a small part of your journey. Here are a few of my favorites from our shoot... Enjoy!

D+A Roblar Winery Wedding We were all slightly stressed the week leading up to this wedding, having been experiencing bouts of rain and unpredictable forecasts it seemed showers on D&A's wedding day were inevitable. However, the clouds parted and the skies cleared just long enough for us to be blessed with the most magical weather we could have hoped for! We even got a picture perfect sunset over the vines and the most gorgeous glowy light that completely flooded all of our images. I loved being a part of this rustic and romantic winery wedding. From the tiered Cheese Wheel Cake (yes, cheese) to the wine barrel cocktail bar every detail fit the venue perfectly. Here are a few of my favorites from D&A's wedding day. Enjoy! Venue: Roblar Winery

Baby "C" newborn session One thing I love the most about these lifestyle newborn sessions is that I get to visit my clients in the comforts of their own homes. This is great because not only is it super convenient for a new momma who- let's face it- would rather not have to pack up a newbie and take a car ride just days after delivery. But it's also awesome for me because I LOVE capturing families in their own surroundings and I've also found that siblings are much more likely to open up and be cooperative once they've shown me their rooms and favorite toys ;) While my new momma's are wrapping up their finishing touches, nursing their sweet new babes or wrangling their toddlers I get the chance to observe the family I am about to photograph and hopefully be able to pull out the true essence of what makes them unique through my images. I love getting to know my clients on a more personal level during these monumental moments in their lives and I love having the opportunity to preserve these sacred moments for them. Congratulations to this sweet now family of FIVE. Your new little bundle of love is just as precious as the first two! Here are a few of my favorites from baby "C"s newborn session.... Enjoy!

Meaghan + Chance Married! It was such an honor to photograph Meaghan and Chance's glamorous Pacific Palisades wedding. Not a detail was spared. From the lavish floral bouquets to the most stunning bridal gown, a custom photo booth and the sweetest "Sweetheart table" you ever did see. The day was absolutely exquisite. Not only was the bride breathtaking, she was a doll and a dream to work with. The happy couple was beaming with nothing but pure love and adoration for each other the entire evening and it was truly an event to be cherished. Meaghan and Chance... I wish you a lifetime of love and happiness, you are an amazing couple and deserve the best! Cheers to the start of a beautiful new adventure together!

Spring has sprung and a baby on the way.. Spring is one of my favorite times of year to photograph and I am so happy to have had yet another opportunity to capture the darling Fiore family one last time before they are officially a family of FIVE.  We could not have asked for a more beautiful backdrop for our session. This shoot was so sweet because the entire time I was literally being showered with wildflowers by these two sweet boys {heart melters}. I cannot wait to meet their new baby brother in just a few short weeks! Here are a few of my favorites from our shoot... Enjoy!

Nicholas & Caitlin's Paradise Springs Wedding (Yosemite, CA) It was such an honor to photograph Nicholas and Caitlin's wedding. It was an absolute winter wonderland and the setting was almost as breathtaking as the gorgeous bride herself. I loved every detail of rustic charm that went into making this day fabulous and it was so hard to narrow down my favorite images, but here are a few! Congratulations to Caitlin and Nicholas! I'm so thrilled to have been part of your happily ever after. Enjoy!

Padaro Beach Engagement Session Talk about a steamy engagement shoot... this couple is not only smokin' hot but clearly cannot wait to be married to one another! The chemistry between them was quite obvious while I was photographing them and they couldn't keep their eyes off each other. We got lucky with absolutely perfect weather on a fall day. Here are a few of my favorites from our shoot on one of the most gorgeous California beaches. Enjoy!

Herthel Family Holiday Session I can hardly believe the holidays are upon us again.. this year has truly flown by in a flash. I'm really enjoying all of my recent family sessions and it's so awesome for me to see how much each of my clients/friends children have grown in just one year. I've been photographing sweet Crosby since she was just a few days old and she is one of my favorite tiny humans ;) She is the most stylish baby and look at that face... how could you not love that adorable squish! She seemed to be loving this years holiday session much more than last, laughing and smiling throughout our entire time together... take a peek at some of my favorite images from this shoot to see for yourself. Enjoy!

Meadow & Kinley's Farmstand Party We recently celebrated my last babies FIRST birthday and combined it with a little celebration for her big sis who shares her birthday month. When in the planning stages of their party I really wanted to do something simple that would appeal to all of their little toddler friends with an Autumn theme in mind. When I think of October I think pumpkin everything, hayrides, comfort food and crisp cool weather. Well, this party captured all of that (except the cooler weather!) Unfortunately it was blazing hot and we were not quite wrapped in blankets sipping cider on our hayrides as I had imagined but hey, that's California for ya! I still think it turned out wonderfully and the kids certainly enjoyed themselves. Scroll down for all of Meadow and Kinley's Farmstand Party deets.... I chose THE FARMSTEAD as our party venue. It is so quaint and rustically sweet and was the perfect spot for a toddler friendly gathering (the big kids loved it too). The Farmstead is  locally own owned and operated and they sell everything they grow. Check out their Market Days if you get a chance. The U-pick fields are open seasonally and you can also visit and feed their adorable farm animals (the piglets are my favorite). Jade and the rest of the staff were so friendly and accommodating, we were delighted that they were willing to host us. I don't know about you- but to me, food is EVERYTHING. I literally squealed when my friend Linda over at The Organic Kitchen was willing to collaborate for my girls birthday and create some AMAZING new fall inspired recipes to be served at the event. Not only is she an extremely talented chef and food blogger I look up to her as a fellow mom of SIX. That's right... between the two of us we have twelve children! Needless to say she's got this whole parenting thing down and is now on to mastering the art of Grandmothering when she's not whipping up delicacies in her gorgeous kitchen.  I really do love all of her creations and chances are, if you've ever been to my home for a meal or had one delivered by me the recipe most likely came from one of her cookbooks

Linda brought two cakes that are seriously the best two fall inspired cakes you will ever taste... no really, they are. The first was an Apple Spice Cake that is so moist and just the right amount of sweet. I recently served this at another gathering I had as well and I can attest to the fact that this not only tastes amazing but it's simple enough that even the "baking challenged" like myself can't screw it up ;) Keeping with the fall theme a Savory Pumpkin Soup, Pear and Blackberry Salad (with a lemon poppyseed dressing), along with fresh bread were also served. As well as freshly picked strawberry baskets and pumpkin shaped PB&J's for the kiddos. Last but certainly not least... The Organic Kitchen's Chocolate Salted Caramel Cake literally.. well... took the cake! Sooooo sooo good. I'm hoping this cake alone made up for the fact that all my adult guests were melting on a not so blustery fall day ;)

An extra special thank you to my dear friend, Rachelle for putting together this gorgeous floral garland for me just two weeks after giving birth to her second baby. If you aren't lucky enough to have a Rachelle in your life (sorry) you can put together a simpler version of this on your own to dress up your food table. The kids had a blast feeding the animals and taking hayrides through the pumpkin fields. A big THANK YOU to the Farmstead for setting this all up for us! Word on the street is during select days this fall you can stop in with your kiddos for a fun hayride yourself! Pick some pumpkins, feed the animals and make a fun little day of it. Stop in and check out their market on your way out. And just like that.. she's ONE! All in all I would say my babies birthday was a success. Thanks so much to all their little buds who came out to celebrate with us. We were so grateful to have you all there and hope you enjoyed their farmstand party as much as we did! This milestone was particularly emotional for me... as a mother who has been in the "baby" stages for nearly a decade it's hard knowing this is my last but I'm looking forward to the next chapter of our lives and all of the amazing experiences and milestones to come. Cheers!
